Hallo! Thank you for visiting my web site. I am sure that its content will be interesting for you and articles especially. Below you can find detailed information about me, but if you are in a hurry, please, see summary in CV.

What I do
Though I don't have education in journalism, for the last few years I have been working as professional journalist. That's not an accident. Since 1999, when I graduated the Moscow State University Geographic Department, I have been proving constantly that every geographer is to a certain extent journalist. Comparison and description have been the key research methods for geographers since the epoch of Strabon. Look there, find out something interesting and mark it in a handbook, look here and also record it and then finally put all the things together making common conclusions. But! It is journalism, isn't it? So, as you can see, each geographer does this journalist job at least on the primary level of data collecting followed by the basic analysis. No matter, if he wants to or not. It's a kind of habit. Otherwise, "land description" is impossible (known translation for the Greek word "geography").

My topics
I write about tourism mostly. As you understand, it's not an accident too. This topic is in harmony with every geographer's soul. I like to travel very much. However, my articles available on this site are dedicated not only to travelling itself. They are mostly about the hidden side of tourism. For years I have been working for the respectful commercial company that provide information services for tourism market in Russia. This circumstance defines the following major topics of my articles:
Travel business in Russia, outbound and inbound tourism, travel market analysis, industry news, key events and comments of leading experts.
Though the preparation of such articles often remains limited by the walls of cabinet and far from romance I always try to be creative. In my articles I try to present serious and sometimes even boring things in a simple and interesting way. If I succeed or not, readers should judge.
The majority of my analytical articles about Russian travel industry were published in "Hotline Tourism". This is a monthly magazine issued since 1998 with usual amount of 15000 copies and designed for tourism industry professionals. It consists of 100 pages and is distributed among Russian travel agencies, tour operators, air carriers, hotels and other industry players.

More information about this leading travel trade magazine in Russia can be found on www.tourdom.ru

As sometimes I travel instead of thinking about such serious things, some of my articles are dedicated to
travelling practical aspects, useful information for people going to take a rest somewhere in the world.
I almost don't write common reviews about countries. But also I don't have any bad thoughts about it. It's just a matter of business - usually my clients prefer to learn not only impressions but also a good amount of certain information. Where to find alcohol stores in the United Arab Emirates, what are the yacht charters in Croatia, where are the best recreation capacities in the Moscow suburbs - these are all examples. Some of such articles are available in the russian section of this site. There you can also enjoy some photos.

My other important jobs are advertising texts and PR articles.
Sometimes the Client wants to invest in promotion of his brand or product but doesn't know how to do this in a most efficient way. In such cases I work as consultant and journalist simultaneously. In cooperation with the Client Company pr-manager or even general director I choose topic or certain aspect for future article to make focus on the benefits of the product. And only after that I start writing the article itself.

I have also worked in cooperation with another professional periodical "Advertising Industry" to become more informed about relative topics. This is a very respectful magazine among advertising agencies and other industry players in Russia.

Without false modesty I can say that several years of continuous work with many different articles helped me to become well-informed specialist in Russian travel industry. Sometimes my colleagues from other issues ask me to help with certain tasks and I never refuse their inquiries.

My aspirations
I like to look into the core of a problem. It's interesting for me to collect separated fragments of different origin and present them as an integral thing in my easy-for-read texts. This is a really creative process and that's why I enjoy my work very much.
Photography has become a true aspiration for me since 2001 when I bought my first camera. Some photos are available on this web-site.
